You should read John Berger's book "Ways of seing." There he distinguishes "nude" from "naked," the former meaning to be on a display for men's eyes while the latter only devoid of clothes. Most of art is nude, made for wealthy men who commissioned it. Naked doesn't interest almost anyone. I tried to experiment with it with my photography projects and it was very difficult to get out of the cultural norm and (self?) indoctrination. If you want to see a trully refreshing art work on naked bodies search for RYAN McGINLEY.
