Yes, wheat concerns aside, this is one of the culture shocks when you go across the Atlantic, either way. I was surprised how difficult it is for a European to find "normal bread" in the States. Usually there are just those pre-sliced square loafs that taste like chemicals. We have them too, but rarely do I buy that. Instead, there are so many bakeries on the streets. :)
