This is a very extensive response, thank you Lars. You certainly open some right questions; the personal meaning is coming to the forefront of our attention. It is directly coupled with the technique. For example; when you browse through old polaroids on flea market, you KNOW for a fact that these were real people recording their own real and meaningful situations. Even if those pictures don't mean much to you, they did to someone or at least you know that they bear some sort of authenticity. So the divide is greater now. If you simply need something pretty for your smartphone wallpaper, then AI is there for you. But if you need something authentic, you still need to photograph it. It's pure beauty vs. truth, I guess.
