The power of "the role" is immense. This is why most politicians can't and don't make a difference, despite their promise and hope. Remember Obama? People thought the sky will open with his presidency. But then, it was just business as usual, for the most part.

Recently something similar happened on a local level here, where I live. And again, a "local Obama" slipped into the role just like everybody before him.
