The End of the Pandemic: 2025?

It is almost impossible to end it earlier

Almost exactly a year ago I woke up with a premonition: this will last longer than we think. Much much longer.

Each crisis is not only agony, it is also an opportunity. After the initial shock wears down, people start recognising the benefits of the situation.

There is a lot to be exploited in times of crisis!

Politicians begin their internal fight for power, heroic status, and elimination of political opponents. They loot public resources and make a tremendous profit of it, businesses are happy to sell their services and expand production lines, and regular people engage in endless ideological fights through which they vent out their despair and frustration.

It takes a long time time to run out of motives and resources for such side issues.

An analogy with WWII is quite tempting:

Please excuse my gross simplification. I’m trying to make a point. :)

Right now we’re still in this long intermediate stage when the crisis is abused for all sorts of local conflicts, looting, unfinished businesses and of course ideological warfare.

But above all, the Pandemic is taken advantage of to secure positions of political power and financial profits.
