One of things I remember the most vividly from my childhood is when I tried to invite a girl out for a drink and I had to use the stationary phone. Her mother would pick up and I had to make an excuse for why I need her daughter. "Because she has some notebooks for school. You know, reasons." LOL. Then the girl came to the phone and we both knew that mothers are listening. It was so embarrassing. Today's kids have no idea how that felt.
