My Time-Travel Destinations
Daydreaming
Whenever I read books on historical events, geology, evolution, or even astronomy, I find myself daydreaming about time travel. I keep selecting destinations for time travel and imagining what it would be like. What wonders would await me there? Here’s a list of my favorites.
The Cambrian Explosion
About three billion years later, multicellular life exploded in numbers. Time-traveling to the Cambrian period is the closest one can get to stepping into an alien world. Although they already had all the features of today’s species, the way anatomy expressed it was very different from today. At that time, evolution was basically throwing spaghetti against the wall to see what sticks and what falls.
Many of the species had soft bodies that left no fossil remains. Only a tiny portion must have had shells or skeletons for us to study today, which means the most bizarre creatures, such as the ones we are still discovering in the depths of the oceans, could be only seen utilizing time travel.
