Most people here in the countryside have children to fill their lives with events. Think about it; after school (or marriage) it is just one long endless repetition till death. But children bring a new set of events; baptisms, first communion, then school and all that it brings with it, another marriage, another set of grandchildren. It is never borring.

The problem is that some of them are lousy parents who just pass on their issues onto the next generation.
