It was one of those things Youtube recommends, and one time I bit the bait. I was (and still am) working on a scanning project that leaves a lot of room for listening to music and podcasts, so I said, what the hell, let’s give it a try.

This article is not a debunking piece. I am not a climate scientist, and it would go well beyond the scope of such an article to dive deep into graphs, numbers, and decimal points. This is also why I won’t source-link every claim that I make. I will only try to summarise my listening experience, and you can then go on and trace down every piece of information if you feel the need to do so. Most podcasts I’ve listened to come from Tom Nelson’s channel. With that out of the way, let’s dive in.

The first thing to note is that their arguments come in all shapes and forms and at all levels of sophistication. They disagree on many things, and perhaps the only thing that unites them is that they don’t feel any sense of urgency or danger. If you ask them about the state of the climate, they will almost unanimously say it is fine. In fact, many will claim it is only getting better, but more on that later. Here’s a list of some of the most common arguments they make.
