I am in the middle of writing a similar piece. I've spent a month listening to these peoples' podcasts, and to say it was illuminating would be an understatement. What really bugs me is the fact that there are many extremely intelligent and well educated (even well intentioned!) people among them. Is this denialism just a coping mechanism? Perhaps. Because I think that most people operate on an emotional level which completely bypasses rational thinking. This was probably always the case, but now social media and the internet put that on steroids.
