Here's an interesting idea I've got while reading your article; maybe our tendency to express ourselves clearly is motivated by facial (or social) blindness. I suspect that was the case for me. I don't usually speak in sophisticated language but I do overly analyse words and sentence structures. I get overly annoyed when people are sloppy about either of those. AND: I write excessively long emails even on the most trivial topics. I just want to get to the bottom of it. :) My guess is I am compensating for social blindness. NT people don't need so much of conversation explicitly spoken.
