Glass is important, but even more pressing would be concrete. I don't see any way how to produce it at such a scale. China is probably erecting more buildings than the rest of the world combined. "Cement is the source of about 8% of the world's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, according to think tank Chatham House." That puts it among the harderst poluters.

With that in mind, we'll be probably back to wooden houses (at best) with prohibitively expensive windows.
