A huge part of this problem is that we are always "three months before the end of it."

It is thus pointless to replace air ventilation systems and our habits, "if it all will be over soon." We are all prone to such wishfull thinking. If two years ago I knew only a fraction of what I know now, my life would be a lot easier too, but we're all humans after all.
